Artist Bio

Born in Bogotá-Colombia in 1963. Painter, Draftsman; Graduated in Plastic Arts from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Martin Mancera began his artistic activities as an illustrator in 1987 in the main newspapers with national circulation where he was part of the production, preparation and editing team. In 2001 he joined the San Sebastián Arts Workshop and began his study of the different techniques, and began the search to capture in his canvases a purpose where the problem is not what to say, but how to say it, in the process he ends up isolating himself. His work in general is based on the fact that "it is not so much to make people see what no one has yet seen, but to make them think what no one has yet thought about what everyone sees or has seen"; from here collages, paintings and others are displayed, with materials such as: Rags, coins, bills, keys, invoices, matchboxes, conventional elements in general become part of the work of Master Martin Mancera, where public figures, historical events , news and anecdotes in the form of historical narration are translated through the language of art.
